Ireland, the European treat....ok that's not a thing but it's definitely a treat of a country in my eyes as Ireland was the apple of my U.K. eye before London came along. What I loved so much about Ireland was all the down home things I could do there but it still felt like I was escaping somewhere else. The first thing I did in Ireland was head over to (Members only content location) for lunch and the Spa, which ended up making the top tier spa list as one of the best spas I've been to in the world. Lucky for me I had the place all to myself and that could have played a factor into that winning spot but the ambience alone would have still made it a top choice regardless. Another fun excursion in Ireland was visiting (Members only content location) in Dublin to see their impressive library (that also made the list of top libraries to visit around the world and rightfully so). Not to far from there was the Dublin Castle where I got a nice dose of Irish History that was much needed for me to really feel like I made my trip 100% worth it. I also visited Saint Patrick's Cathedral and park where I was able to get some religious experience in as well as snag some great souvenirs (any of the shops surrounding the cathedral or park will get you what you need). On the last day I had dinner and drinks on the coolest little boat hovering in the water called (Members only content location). It was such a calming feeling to be on the boat, enjoy the drinks and food but not travel around the water as I don't do great on boat rides. I would check the schedule however of this vessel in case you are looking to do the boat cruise type experience.
General Consensus: I was in Ireland on business and found that Dublin was a rich culture of heritage mixed with relaxation and fun. I would highly recommend visiting Dublin on it's own or as a secondary trip from London. The Cliffs of Moher is another extremely popular destination in Ireland but a bit farther out if you're in Dublin so plan this trip accordingly if you decide to add that on.
