The magic of Vienna can truly only be felt if you are willing to withstand the freezing temperatures during the winter and at a Christmas market. Going to Vienna during this time was worth it but if you want to do a summer visit that's ok to. Walking around a Christmas market looking for unnecessary goodies while drinking mulled wine was one of my favorite lifetime memories. For my shopper enthusiast, the square in Vienna was beautiful and full of luxury designers that make it ok to splurge because you're in Europe so you're likely getting a great deal on it anyway. Walking the streets in itself was a great time but we did enjoy drinks at a spot that truly stuck out to me; (Members only content location). Not only did this place have velvet blue walls (and velvet red in the same building) but my other friend met the love of her life there so it's safe to say it's a good hot spot for potentially finding your soulmate haha. The Vienna Opera House was another highlight I wanted to visit and this was because it is the most famous in the world. You have to wait a year+ for opera tickets so don't hold your breathe but they do let you go on a guided tour through the grounds if you want to just nab some photos. One of the most amazing dinners I've ever had and certainly #1 on my list in Vienna was (Members only content location). This is a Michelin star restaurant so make sure you dress the part and don't forget your wallet, expensive but worth every bite. Checking out the cathedral not to far from the main square was a nice little photo opp and my recommendation is, if you want to stay in the heart of it all stay in Graben.
General Consensus: This won't be you're average European trip. Super frigid in the winter and with no proper planning and vision, Vienna may not be the place for you. If however you are looking for a classy euro trip with delicious drinks and want one of the top Christmas Markets in Europe, Vienna is a magical place only few in the world will experience.
