James Bond Island: Thailand

Updated: Mar 23, 2022

When you say Thailand, many people think of warm beautiful beaches and basically the south beach of Southeast Asia and well...they'd be correct. Thailand is not only full of culture and mopeds but it is also home to one of the best massages you will likely ever receive, if you head to the right shop that is. I did not have the pleasure of finding the perfect place for a massage (honestly I didn't get one at all) but what I can brag about was my amazing boat ride around the Island and my time wandering around the city and marveling at it's beauty. I didn't get nearly the time that I wanted in Thailand and the one thing I truly wanted to do I didn't have time but I still highly recommend because I did see others doing it. At night on the beaches lanterns are light in what looks like floating balloons and sent off into the night sky, something Thailand is certainly famous for...once night time hits do this asap. Let's also talk about another incredibly popular thing to do here but I would say proceed with caution and based on your feelings about animals. So I was able to visit a tiger sanctuary and elephant ride hut and although for me at the time the experience was enjoyable (mainly because Tigers are my favorite animals) I later found out this is not in the best interest of the animals. Like Komodo, the animals are drug induced and treated incredibly inhumane for the entertainment of humans and this is 100% wrong so I'm not going to encourage my readers to take part in this activity without knowing what you're dealing with beforehand. Lastly, this Island is known as James Bond Island because one of the most famous James Bond films was shot here so the movie lover in me just jumped out of my skin over that factoid.

General Consensus: Thailand is a must see and visit and stay if you are headed to Southeast Asia. Not only are the beaches beautiful but the people are as well and the experiences you will have there will be like no other (maybe comparable to Hawaii). Thailand gets a 20 out of 10 for me and that is from someone who only got the chance to spend 1full day there.
