From the moment I stepped off the plane I thought I was in Dubai for a second by the architecture of the airport but then once I arrived to the city center I could feel where I was. Such color and liveliness, Morocco was already shaping up to be a place of wonder. Feeling like princess Jasmine and looking like the set of Aladdin, Morocco was so enchantingly pretty that I wasn't really sure where to start in this robust city so we started with belly dancers and drinks. Having drinks and enjoying the scenery at (Members only content location) is a big must for anyone visiting Marrakesh as the women are absolutely gorgeous and the music was surprisingly good. We also enjoyed dinner and cigars next door to this club, unfortunately I don't remember the name of the venue but just walk right next door. The biggest part of our journey in Africa was visiting the Sahara and riding dune buggies in the desert.....getting there is not as fun and alluring as it sounds and I assure you it is no easy venture. We took a 10 hour private car ride (you read that correctly, 10 hours...but we opted for the private ride because lord only knows how much harder that would have been cooped up with others on the bus ride that is not private). On the 10 hour drive, you stop at what seems to be a hostel in the mountains which honestly was an amazing time as we got to meet new people. The over night stay is included with your journey purchase (also included is dinner, breakfast and wifi haha) the internet is not that great but it's fine because the nature along this route is too pretty to be on your phone for anyway. Once we arrived to our destination, the first thing we did was hop on the dune buggies and ride around the Sahara Desert which is an accomplishment I'm proud to have on my life experiences (see photos below). After that we were driven to our camels and literally rode off into the sunset of the most gorgeous backdrop you could imagine and stayed the night under the stars with no internet and the most friendly staff to make us dinner and tea and enjoy nature with. The next day we went to (Members only content location) and it was just as luxurious as the title makes it sound. Visiting the Saint Laurent Museum was also a huge highlight on this journey and a stop I highly recommend. The Last part of our visit to Africa was a trip to Casablanca that I must admit was a bit disappointing in comparison to my expectations from movies. I envisioned sleeping on the rooftop of a small little building and eating dates up there and what I got was the Malibu, California of Africa but I guess it could have been worse lol. We visited (Members only content location) and the drinks were just as delicious as you would expect. We also visited the holy Mosque which was such a beautiful and enriching experience.
General Consensus: Marrakech gets an A++ from me in all categories; Hotel/Riad stay, food & drinks, spa experience, fun activities, night life, desert experience. I would absolutely say to put this destination at the top of your list. Casablanca was a far ride and visually stunning but it may not be worth the trip, however the Mosque alone if you're looking to pray and pay respects was certainly worth the visit.
