Pisa, Pisa

Updated: Mar 31, 2022

No fatty I didn't write Pizza, Pizza; although oddly enough I am referring to the food in my play on words which Italy has no short of..that's for damn sure. I enjoyed Prague's version of a leaning building more than Pisa but it's not nearly as famous as the Italian wonder. One thing I highly enjoyed as many tourists do when visiting Italy was taking the train to visit Pisa from Florence. The trains in Italy have a weird way of operating (as explained in my Tuscany story) where sometimes they are down and not running and sometimes you will get lucky and have a highly efficient means of transportation. The trains are 50/50 in this country but if you are able to catch them you can go to so many great destinations so quickly and quite comfortably which isn't always true at home in the states. Once getting off the train in Pisa, we were able to visit a nice little coffee shop (normally I'm a Starbucks girl even in other countries so sadly I did not get the chance to catch the name of the shop I visited) but there are plenty to choose from. Italy, like France and Colombia, is a country where no matter what coffee shop you stumble into the espresso is likely top quality. These are places where wine and espresso are always done right and with care so I say explore whatever shop your heart and stomach leads you. Overall I enjoyed the leaning tower and some of the neighboring souvenir shops but ya know nothing I couldn't soak in through the streets of Rome.

General Consensus: If you're close to Pisa or want to grab a photo with that legendary structure hop on the train and get to it. Would I send you out of your way to visit this location? Not by a long shot but again if you're looking to get some history in and want to make the journey by all means, stop by.
