Praise for Prague

Updated: Mar 20, 2022

Czech Republic wasn't necessarily on my high priority list but when I saw how close it was to Amsterdam (again use to travel there every year for work) I figured why not make the journey? I had always heard about people vacationing in Prague so I wanted to see what the fuss was about. The Charles Bridge is the most popular attraction in Prague as well as the dancing building in the city center so like a tourist I naturally visited both (cute experience but won't take up to much time). I actually walked from the bridge to the dancing building (about 15-20 min walk along the water banks and in the summer it is a gorgeous walk...I went in February and it wasn't as awful as Vienna in the winter but it had it's moments). I didn't get to much time in Prague but I did get to experience the shopping and culture in the city center but I do regret not checking out the nightlife. Typical tourist I ate 1 or 2 of my dinners at the Hard Rock Cafe which gave me all the feels of home and sometimes I need that! I did however eat their most popular dessert which I have no idea what it's called but I can describe it to you... ice cream rolled up in cinnamon sugar dough (and it was as amazing as it sounds, see photo below). I adored the shopping here which definitely felt like a Paris or 5th ave street and enjoyed my typical Starbucks in the morning as well (I don't care what country I'm in I need the bucks). All of these things aside I will say my stay at the (Members only content location) was nothing short of royal and magical. While this hotel didn't make my top 5 hotels list, it can certainly gain honorable mention. The only reason it didn't make the list is because it has a very unique feel (you'll feel like a king or queen of the castle) and it may not appeal to the younger or more modern crowd but if you want a true Prague experience you must stay here!

General Consensus: If you are close to Prague you must visit and if you are looking to visit in the summer where the events are awesome and lively then you must! I wouldn't recommend Prague October-February but in the nice weather season it's a must! They do have uber here for my travelers who need this info and you won't need to rent a car here but please be very careful as my uber driver told me I must pay cash, drove me to an ATM and I reported him immediately after paying. Please always know while using uber this should never be the case and it should always come from whatever payment method you have on file.
