I have wanted to go to Bora,Bora and Tahiti for as long as I can remember and well I woke up one morning and decided...no better time then now. Tahiti and Moorea were 2 of the most relaxing and mentally transcendent places I've been in a while. Irony is I'm not a beach gal but as long as I'm doing something active on a beach like jet-skiing or there's a pool nearby, I'll survive. The food was good, lot's of fresh fish dishes but the scenery was the show-stopper on these remote/lux Islands. Both were absolutely honey-moon destinations so keep that in mind if you're taking the 8hr flight from the West-coast or the 13hr flight from the East-coast. The (Members Only Content) has one of the most gorgeous panoramic views you could hope for on an Island and the food was enjoyable as well. Be warned that like Hawaii the food is expensive on this Island as well as it's sister Island Moorea but Bora, Bora is worse then both and I didn't even get over there. Water sports was my highlight in Tahiti but I certainly encourage downloading Google Maps the second you hit the airport. My cell service wasn't great and I was terrified I wouldn't make it to the hotel but I had an angel looking out for me that helped me navigate there eventually :-) If you rent a car to go to Moorea, you are able to ferry your car over there as well just make sure you book this in advance so you don't miss the ride. The (Members Only Content) Bakery in town was adorable and delicious so I highly encourage to stop by there for some great photos and tasty treats.
MOOREA
Just a boat-ride away was Moorea and it looks pretty similar to Tahiti (either a bit larger or smaller... didn't really investigate that part. The over-water bungalows at (Members Only Content) were incredible and now I must find one that tops this one because there are tons of amazing ones spread across the Caribbean Islands out there. The food was about the same as Tahiti, nothing super mind-blowing and a little over-priced but your on an Island so that's to be expected. Dirt-Biking was my favorite highlight here as we got to see the entire Island, take great photos on the mountain-top and have some delicious fruity drinks on the way down. I absolutely encourage taking the ferry and experiencing this lovely clone of Tahiti.
General Consensus - If you are in love, looking for the perfect honey-moon destination and want to immerse yourself in scenic views, peace of mind and lovely/friendly people I encourage a trip to French Polynesia....SOON.
